A dog was lifted to safety after it fell halfway down a 100ft cliff and became stranded on a perilous ledge.
The springer spaniel named Bruno went missing on Sunday after his owners took him on a walk near the cliffs at Trebarwith Strand in Cornwall.
The next day he was spotted by a member of the public, stranded on the side of a steep cliff.
Coastguards were called and had to embark on a daring rescue to save the family pet.
A specialist rescuer abseiled down the cliff to reach Bruno before hooking him up to a safety harness.
Video footage showed the nail-biting moment the coastguard team descended the cliff to save him.
Bruno was taken back to the top of the cliff where he was reunited with his owners.
A Boscastle Coastguard spokesman said: ‘We were paged to reports of a dog stuck partway down an approximately 100ft cliff.

‘The dog had been missing since yesterday and was located this morning by a member of the public on a narrow cliff ledge around halfway down.
‘Due to the nature of the incident, Polzeath Coastguard were also tasked to support the Boscastle team.
‘A qualified cliff technician was lowered to the dog, which was thankfully found to be uninjured – and very pleased to see the coastguard team.
‘After a brief assessment, the dog was safely recovered and returned to the cliff top, where it was reunited with its very relieved and grateful owners.
‘The circumstances surrounding how the dog came to be in this situation are unknown.’
Bruno’s owners had appealed for help to find him on Sunday.
They said: ‘Our springer spaniel Bruno has gone missing this afternoon while walking on the cliffs at Trebarwith Strand, he was last seen at about 3pm.
‘He is very friendly and approachable.’
On Monday they paid tribute to the coastguard team for rescuing their pet.
They said: ‘Thank you to everyone who supported our search to bring Bruno home and a massive thanks to the coastguard team who safely rescued him.
‘He is now home safe.’
