Laura Woods has branded Richard Keys a “t***” following the disgraced Sky Sport presenter’s comments after Gabby Logan’s dad, and Leeds United icon, Terry Yorath’s passing.

Logan was forced to leave Match of the Day midway through Wednesday evening’s show as she rushed to be by her father’s side. Yorath’s death at the age of 75 came after battling a short illness.

Yorath’s family confirmed his death in a statement on Thursday morning, which read: “To most he was a revered footballing hero, but to us he was Dad; a quiet, kind and gentle man. Our hearts are broken but we take comfort knowing that he will be reunited with our brother, Daniel.”

Keys posted a self indulgent message on X following Yorath’s death. He wrote: “Sad to hear the news of Terry Yorath’s passing. He was a warrior & won fans over wherever he played.

“He was great for us at Coventry & the reason I got Gabby a job at Sky. I had no idea who she was when we met but I knew her dad. RIP Terry. Your daughter did you proud.”

The sacked Sky anchor was battered in the comments section for his post, with TNT Sports host Woods slamming Keys’ egocentric words, she wrote: “Sorry…but what a t***. Said with zero surprise.”

Woods then replied with her own words for Logan, adding: “Also want to add my respects to the thousands of others who are showing theirs compassionately to a much beloved broadcaster and her family. Sending all my love x”.

Keys was also criticised by Sky Sports News host Dan Bardell, who commented: “Great to take a trip down self indulgent memory lane at this time. Thoughts with you.”

Keys and Logan were previously embroiled in a bitter dispute when she detailed allegations of sexist and offensive remarks against Keys and Andy Gray during their time working at Sky Sports in her book ‘The First Half’, published in 2022.

Recalling a conversation between the two sacked Sky presenters on a flight to Istanbul for the 2005 Champions League final, Logan wrote: “I was seven months pregnant with twins, and I was huge. I looked like I’d swallowed a space hopper.

“In full earshot of me – and anyone who might be listening in our business-class cabin – Richard said: ‘So, Andy, what do you think of pregnant women?

“’I’m afraid I don’t find them very attractive, Richard. In fact, I never slept with my wife when she was pregnant with our kids.’

”So you didn’t have sex, Andy?’ Keys asked. ‘No, I didn’t say that, Richard.’

“Then they laughed their heads off at their little ‘comedy’ routine. I was embarrassed, of course, and thought their comments were especially cruel, bearing in mind they both had children and wives of their own.’

Logan adds: “Keys and Gray were dinosaurs, waiting to become extinct.”

Keys stated he intended to pursue legal action against Logan for “wildly inaccurate allegations”, calling them “nonsense” and “smears”. He also claimed he opened the door for Logan’s broadcasting career.

He made further comments about Logan in December 2024 after she was named as one of three co-hosts of Match of the Day. He wrote: “Gabby Logan is someone else I opened the door for. I did that because her dad had played for Coventry and I was a big fan! She’s good – but a handful.

“Sadly she p****d everybody off at Sky with her demanding attitude and my gaffer then – Vic Wakeling – let her go after two years. I’m told by people that work with her now nothing has changed. Oh well – one day maybe.”
