Terry Yorath’s life in photos as Gabby Logan’s dad and Leeds United star dies at 75

Former Leeds United and Wales footballer Terry Yorath has passed away at the age of 75, after a brief illness. He had four children, including TV presenter Gabby Logan, as well as Daniel, Louise and Jordan.

Tragically, Daniel died from the genetic heart condition hypertrophic cardiomyopathy when he was just 15 in 1992.

Yorath is best remembered for his time with Leeds United at Elland Road, where he made nearly 200 appearances during the 1960s and 1970s.

His tenure included a First Division victory in 1974, and he holds the distinction of being the first Welshman to play in a European Cup final.

Following his time at Leeds, Yorath played for Coventry, Tottenham, Bradford, and Swansea before transitioning into a full-time management role.

The former midfielder was hailed as a hero for the Welsh national team, earning 59 caps before taking on the role of manager.

His managerial career included memorable victories over Brazil and Germany, although he eventually left the position after failing to qualify for the 1994 World Cup.

Yorath also had stints managing Swansea, Cardiff, Bradford, Sheffield Wednesday, the Lebanon national team, and Margate.

As the football community mourns the loss of another legend, we take a look back at his illustrious career and life through a series of photographs.
