Plot to marry Barron Trump to Danish princess to resolve Greenland row will get backing

A tongue-in-cheek social media post suggesting Barron Trump marry Princess Isabella of Denmark as a ‘diplomatic solution’ to the Greenland dispute has gone viral with over six million views

Social media user have claimed to have solved the latest geopolitical crisis suggesting President Donald Trump’s son, Barron Trump, 19, should marry Princess Isabella of Denmark, 18, to end the hostilities between the two nations.

While some netizens have applauded the suggestion other have branded it as “medieval fan-fiction” and remarked the two teenagers are not “pawns” or “diplomatic tools”. Over the last several months Trump has been keen on taking over Greenland, an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark.

This has sparked a significant disagreement among lawmakers and the Danish government, with the White House even threatening to invade Greenland, potentially through military action. However, according to X user @cinecitta2030, all this debate might be unnecessary if Barron were to wed Princess Isabella as a “diplomatic solution.”

The user attempting fix the presidential row between Demark and the US posted: “The simple diplomatic solution is Barron Trump marries Princess Isabella of Denmark and Greenland is given to America as dowry payment.”

Despite this appearing an absurd suggestion in the 21st century, the post garnered more than six million views and sparked fierce and hilarious debate online. A member of the Danish Royal Family, Princess Isabella is the eldest daughter of King Frederik and Queen Mary, and she’s second in line to the throne.

The amusing proposal gained traction on X, with many users seeming to endorse the idea. One person commented: “He is handsome and smart, she is beautiful and smart. Sounds like a great deal.” Another added: “An elegant solution.”

“This is how we used to do it,” another user quipped.

One user praised: ‘That’s some brilliant out-of-the-box thinking!” Another added: “Barron needs to take one for the team!”

Some social media users went further and even asked Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok to create an AI generated prediction of what the two teenagers hypothetical children would look like if the proposed marriage arrangement went forwards.

However, not all X users were amused by this whimsical proposition. One user said: “That is not geopolitics, that is medieval fan-fiction. Greenland is not a bargaining chip, Princess Isabella of Denmark is not a pawn, and Barron Trump is not a diplomatic tool.”

“Nations are not exchanged through marriages, this is not the 1400s,” one person claimed. Another added: ‘We ain’t living in the 17th century… So STFU.”

The row comes as infamous spoon bender Uri Geller has also weighted in on how he would solve the disagreement between the US and the kingdom of Demark – by offering Donald Trump his own mystical island.

The mind reader, 79, has offered the tiny, rocky outcrop off Scotland’s east coast to the Orange Manbaby for use as a military base. The sabre-rattling US president, also 79, wants to annex Greenland – which has an abundant supply of high-value minerals – even though it belongs to Denmark.
