A130 closed for hours after critical crash leaves paramedics and cops injured

A serious incident on the A130 has led to a prolonged road closure this morning (December 10). The stretch between Bonville’s Roundabout and Sadlers Farm Roundabout was shut down from approximately 12.38am, following a severe crash.

Emergency service personnel have been whisked off to hospital after two separate accidents took place at the same spot. As off-duty police officers and paramedics were attending to one crash, another collision happened, resulting in hospitalisation for those assisting at the scene.

An Essex Police spokesperson stated: “We are responding to a serious collision on the A13. It was reported a single vehicle was involved in a collision in the early hours of 10 January close to Sadlers Farm roundabout.

“Paramedics and off-duty police officers responded to this incident. While at the scene a second collision occurred leaving two paramedics and three off-duty officers injured, and all have been taken to hospital.

“We have closed the A130 between Sadlers Farm roundabout and the A1245 while we continue to work at the scene, and we thank drivers for their patience while we carry out our investigation. Drivers should check before they travel and plan their journeys accordingly.

“We will provide further updates regarding the road reopening throughout the day.”, reports Essex Live.
