A horrifying mass shooting has claimed the lives of at least six individuals as a gunman unleashed a hail of bullets across three separate locations.
The deadly incident unfolded in West Point, Mississippi on Friday night, according to local authorities. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott took to social media to confirm that a suspect has been apprehended and reassured residents that there is “no longer a threat to our community”.
In a sombre Facebook post, Scott wrote: “Unfortunately tonight we have dealt with tragedy in our community. Multiple innocent lives lost due to violence. We do have the individual in custody and no longer poses a threat to our community.
“I ask that you lift our victims and their families in your prayers. Law Enforcement is busy investigating and will release an update as soon as possible.”
