Armed officers have been called to an incident on Drum Brae Drive with a man reportedly suffering serious injuries – an eye-witness said he had ‘slash marks to his face’
An Edinburgh street has been cordoned off by police as emergency services descend on a residential area. Armed officers have been at the scene since 10.30am on Tuesday, January 13, on Drum Brae Drive, near Clermiston Drive.
An eyewitness claims a man was slashed, with armed response officers reportedly entering a property on the road. Photos from the scene show a section of the road sealed off with police tape, several police vehicles blocking the street, and around a dozen officers present.
An anonymous witness told Edinburgh Live: “When I was driving up the road I saw a man with a massive slash across his face, he was drenched in blood.
“He looked to be in his early 40s with grey hair. It looked really bad and serious. Police stopped people from going up and down.”
(DBD) Another local resident said: “I came down the street and they taped the road just from from Clermiston Drive.”, reports Edinburgh Live.
“You can see armed response outside a property that’s been cordoned off. I can see them with what appears to be police riot shields outside a property.
“There are about 10 police vehicles downs stretch of Drum Brae Drive and about a dozen police officers.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for a statement.
