This is the wild moment a woman punched and kicked two police officers as she resisted arrest outside a bar. She was eventually pinned to the ground.
The footage shows the super-fit woman in red gym clothes lashing out at the officers during a violent struggle in front of shocked onlookers in the city of Japeri, in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, on January 9.
The woman is seen striking and kicking the officers before one of them restrains her on the ground while the other assists. Police reportedly said officers were patrolling the area when they were called to intervene after reports that the woman was attacking a 58-year-old man with whom she reportedly had a relationship.
They said the woman then turned on the officers and assaulted them during the attempt to stop the altercation. All those involved were taken for medical treatment at a local health unit before being referred for examinations at the Institute of Legal Medicine.
The woman was identified as Mariana Leal Gomes, 30, who describes herself on social media as a fitness model. Police said she was arrested in the act on suspicion of causing bodily harm, resisting arrest and damaging public property.
The case was sent to the courts, and a judge later ordered that her detention be converted into preventive custody. A relative told local media that she was taken to a prison facility and is awaiting a custody hearing.
The relative also claimed she had been assaulted by officers before reacting. The investigation is ongoing.
It comes as a pair of chaotic adult stars were arrested after wreaking havoc on a flight. Sania Blanchard, 34, and Jordan Danne Lantry, 31, were seen doing the splits as they were escorted through Miami International Airport on Friday.
The pair have since boasted about their antics in a series of videos posted online and have even started selling merchandise.
They were charged with trespassing on property after being given a warning, online records have indicated.
Arrest reports show they were given the heave-ho from the Miami fight after authorities responded to reports of two intoxicated passengers who had refused to move on an American Airlines plane.
