People have been calling US President Donald Trump “sick” and “disgusting” after he reportedly sent supporters a bizarre fundraising email. In the disturbing message, Trump claimed he was “alone and in the dark” with a “dying laptop” before begging for cash.

Trump has left the internet in stitches after firing off a weird late-night fundraising email to his loyal supporters, painting a dramatic picture of himself. The 79-year-old kicked off with the line: “Some people are saying: This is SAD!”

He went on to launch into a full-blown melodrama, writing: “I’m sitting here. Alone.

“In the war room. Fighting for you.

“The rest of the staff went home hours ago.

“It’s just me, one dying laptop, and the 72-hour countdown clock to my first mid-month deadline of the year just RANG.” Trump then warned his followers that if they didn’t help him “crush” his fundraising goal, the “radical Left” would seize Congress in 2026 and “finish what they started”.

He added warnings of “Open borders forever”, “Your guns confiscated”, and “Your kids brainwashed”. Trump went on: “And worst of all, your favorite President (ME!) might just go through another FAKE impeachment!”

The desperate plea ended with a request for $47 (£35) from “every red-blooded American who wants to save the country”. Screenshots of the email quickly made the rounds on social media.

Liberal influencer Harry Sisson consequently shared the email on Threads. He wrote: “Trump sent this creepy email to his supporters last night saying he’s ‘alone and in the dark’ and he’s writing the message from a ‘dying laptop’.

“The only way to help him is to donate your money to him. Disgusting grift.

“Very weird!” Trump’s antics ignited heated reactions as a Threads user commented: “I wonder how many people will actually fall for that!”

A person wrote: “What a sick lying F–K!!!” Someone else penned: “Show me one picture, just one, of Trump alone with a laptop.”

An observer argued: “A billionaire with a dying laptop? Highly doubt his aides left him alone for the night, probably written from his plethora of phones on his golden toilet in the dark!!!

“He is spiraling downward fast!!!” A netizen pointed out: “I can not comprehend being so ignorant and dumb.

“The fact that people fall for this and still support this type of scam is beyond me. How.

“Like howwwwwww.” An observer quipped: “The dying laptop thing is frying me.

“Plug it in.” A commentator added: “Does he not have electricity in this ‘war room’ to turn on a light and charge his laptop?

“As if he uses a laptop.” A separate individual chimed in: “He is a disgusting and embarrassing grifter and such a stain on America.”

Trump sending emails asking for donations is considered political speech protected by the First Amendment of the US Constitution and is a standard method of political fundraising in the US. Moreover, the Federal Election Commission rules permit individuals and political committees to send fundraising emails, provided they adhere to specific regulations, primarily concerning disclaimers and the source of funds.
