Buffalo Bills linebacker Dorian Williams has been ruled out of his team’s AFC Divisional round playoff game against the Denver Broncos after taking a rough hit to the head.
On the opening kickoff of the game, Williams went to tackle return man Marvin Mims.
Mims and Williams collided head-to-head, with the linebacker almost instantly taking up a ‘fencing position’ as an indicator of possible head trauma.
Williams was laid out cold on the ground as staff tended to him and his ailment. Eventually, he was able to get up and walk off the field under his own power.
After the injury, the Bills ruled him out for the rest of the game with an injury to his neck.
At the start of the second half, CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson reported that Williams was getting imaging done on his neck.
Wolfson added that Williams walked into an ambulance under his own power before being transported to an area hospital.
