Wayne Rooney is hooked on X-rated reality show Geordie Shore. The England legend has been an avid viewer since it launched in 2011. In fact, he loves it so much that he was starstruck when he met some of the cast.
Show favourite Gary “Gaz” Beadle told the Daily Star Sunday: “I was in a bar and Wayne Rooney walked in. He looked over and saw me and then ran over. “He was saying, ‘Oh my God! I f****** love Geordie Shore!’
“I couldn’t believe it. This is someone who has played for Manchester United and England and he was excited to see me.” Co-star Kyle Christie added: “Wayne came and sat between us all. It was surreal. It was like he was part of filming.”
Wayne isn’t the only big name who is obsessed with the show, which is famed for showing sex and boozing. Gaz said: “I’ve been to parties and John Terry has recognised me. It’s mad.
“So many big celebrities have watched the show like Ellie Goulding and Paris Hilton. I’ve met some really big stars thanks to the show, too.
“I’ll never forget the time when I was at the Europe Music Awards and Kanye West sat next to me and he was with Kim Kardashian. That was a bit weird.”
Gaz, also revealed the Geordie Shore stars have made a major change to their lifestyles that will shock fans. The clan became famous for their wild partying when the show launched in 2011, but it seems that’s all in the past. Now they’re approaching 40, their lives are very different indeed.
Beadle said: “I hardly drink now. I’m not bothered about that anymore. And if I do go out, I’ll have a blowout and then that’ll be it for six months.”
