GTA studio Rockstar North’s building has reportedly been cordoned off after reports of an ‘explosion’.

Edinburgh fire crews have been dispatched to the Holyrood area as part of a significant emergency services response.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent several appliances to Holyrood Road at approximately 5.02am on Monday, January 19.

The exact details of the incident remain unclear, but it’s believed that the Rockstar North building on the city street has been cordoned off by police, with rumours indicating an “explosion in a boiler room” as the cause.

Rockstar games is responsible for some of the world’s most successful games, including the most anticipated game ever in GTA6.

The SFRS have confirmed their continued presence at the scene more than two hours after the initial call, reports Edinburgh Live.

A spokesperson stated: “I can confirm that we got a call at 5.02am this morning. We mobilised three pumps and four of our specialist appliances. It’s an ongoing incident and we’re still in attendance at the moment with other agencies.”

Police Scotland has been contacted for a statement.
