Jesy Nelson had shared tell-tale signs of her split from fiancé Zion Foster weeks before they announced their relationship was over.
The former Little Mix star, 34, and rapper, 26, got engaged in September 2025 after three years together, but sources say they are now focused on ‘co-parenting’ their eight-month-old twin daughters Ocean and Story.
News that Jesy and Zion had called off their engagement came just weeks after sharing their twin daughters had been diagnosed with Type 1 SMA (spinal muscular atrophy), a severe neuromuscular disorder.
Considered the most severe form of SMA, Type 1 symptoms – which typically appear in infancy – include extreme muscle weakness, difficulties swallowing and respiratory issues.
Jesy is now campaigning for SMA1 screening at birth and has started a petition to get the condition added to the newborn blood spot screening test, also known as the heel prick test.
Following news of the split, fans have now spotted that Jesy shared several hints that her relationship with Zion was over.

Removing her engagement ring
Jesy was spotted without her engagement ring during her This Morning appearance earlier this month where she discussed her daughters’ SMA diagnoses.
During the heartbreaking interview, Jesy shared she would ‘never get over’ her twins’ health battles and said she ‘could have saved’ her babies’ legs if the disorder had been spotted sooner.
Speaking about the response since she revealed the news, Jesy said: ‘I’m actually overwhelmed because I wanted it to get as much reach as possible, to raise awareness about it, and just the response I actually can’t believe how amazing the response has been.
‘I could have prevented this from happening if I’d have seen a video and caught it early enough.’
She added: ‘When you know that there is something that can be done about it and it is life-changing to your child, that’s the part that I cannot accept and that is why I’m going to shout to the rooftops about this.’
Since the diagnosis, Jesy said her life has ‘completely changed’, and that her house looks like a hospital, adding: ‘I just want to be their mum, I don’t want to be a nurse.

‘They’ve had treatment now, thank God, that is a one-off infusion.
‘It essentially puts the gene back in their body that they don’t have and it stops any of the muscles that are still working from dying. But any that have gone, you can’t regain them back.
‘I just want to reiterate that if this is caught from birth, it’s just life-changing.’
While Jesy mainly kept her hands crossed during the interview, at one point she revealed her bare hands, with her ring noticeably absent.
Solo TV appearance
During Jesy’s TV appearance, some fans spotted that she was noticeably alone for the interview.
It was a stark contrast to her appearance on the same programme back in July 2025, where she was supported by Zion as she broke her silence on her traumatic pregnancy, which saw her twins born prematurely at 31 weeks.
During Jesy’s TV appearance, some fans spotted that she was noticeably alone for the interview, in stark contrast to her joint chat with Zion back in July
At the time, Jesy revealed she was forced to spend weeks in hospital after the babies were diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), a rare but serious condition in which blood flows unevenly between identical twins sharing a placenta.
That interview was the first time Jesy and Zion had been interviewed together with their babies.
But for her interview earlier this month, Zion was absent.
Revealing her twins’ diagnoses
Jesy shared her twins health battle for the first time in a candid Instagram video earlier this month.
But instead of being supported by Zion, she was once again alone as she spoke to the camera.
The star did briefly mention her ex in the clip, as she detailed the lengthy journey to getting her twins diagnosed.
She said: ‘If it’s not treated in time, your baby’s life expectancy will not make it past the age of two.’

She went on to add: ‘Me and Zion had to sign lots of forms before they even got their diagnosis.’
‘When they assessed the girls at Great Ormond Street, we were told that they will probably never be able to walk.
‘They probably will never regain their neck strength, so they will be disabled.
‘So the best thing we can do right now is get them treatment and just hope for the best.’
Newborn screening for SMA is currently not available in the UK, but Scotland has announced it will screen babies from the spring.
The UK National Screening Committee does not recommend screening but has commissioned work to reassess this due to developments in treatment.

She left the band in December 2020 after nearly a decade together, and has since released two songs as a solo artist: Boyz, which featured US rapper Nicki Minaj, in 2021 and Bad Thing in 2023.
