Tottenham star Destiny Udogie has been left heartbroken after crooks broke into his £150,000 Range Rover.

The Spurs defender came back to his car in London to find the back window had been smashed. Shattered glass covered the inside of the flash motor. A clothes hanger and a carton of water were the only things left in the boot.

The 23-year-old defender – on £75,000-a-week – posted the footage to Snapchat and wrote: “Yeah, goodnight.” It happened on Saturday (January 17) evening in the capital. It was just hours after the Italian ace was an unused substitute in Spurs’ 2-1 Premier League home defeat to West Ham, as reported on NeedToKnow.

One Tottenham fan said: “Ah man. I’m sorry for Destiny.” Another fumed: “Unacceptable. And has to stop f****** immediately.”

A third replied: “Impossible. Sadiq Khan said London is safe, low on crime and the best city in the world.” Another raging fan added: “Simply has to stop. This is London for you, we’ve done this to ourselves. While a fifth joked: “I heard the person responsible left two Spurs season tickets in it. Any truth to this?”

It comes after Udogie was allegedly threatened with a gun by a football agent in November.

The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation and the agent in question, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested two days after the incident.

Tottenham confirmed that Udogie was at the centre of the incident, which sources described as terrifying, in a statement. A spokesperson for the club said: “We have been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so. Given this is a legal matter, we cannot comment any further.”

A source at the time told The Sun: “This was a terrifying incident and one which has sent shockwaves through the business side of football.

“The player was understandably shaken up – to have threats made against you with a gun is shocking. He reported it right away. It was the right thing to do for his safety.

“He has been supported by his friends and club and they all hope it will not impact his performances. But there will be serious questions about why this happened, which the police are now trying to answer.”
