Thieves break into £165k Mercedes G-Wagon on London road the place properties price £2.4million

A luxury Mercedes SUV has been broken into on a posh London street with footage showing the damage caused by car thieves.

Footage shows the back window of the £165,000 Mercedes G-Wagon smashed in, with it being reported to the police on Saturday evening.

The break-in happened in Pont Street, Belgravia, west London, where the average property price is £2.4m.

The Met Police confirmed they were alerted to the incident, but added no arrests have been made as it continues its investigation.

A spokesperson for the Met said: ‘Police were alerted at 10.50pm on Saturday,  January 17, following a report from a third-party that a car’s window had been smashed on Pont Street, Belgravia.

‘No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. 

‘If you have any information that could help police, please call 101 quoting CAD 7435/17Jan.’ 

It happened the day after Tottenham star Destiny Udogie had his £150,000 Range Rover broken into in the capital.

Mercedes G-Wagons are popular with footballers like England stars Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford. 

Other A-list celebs like Kim Kardashian and Arnold Schwarzenegger have owned the trendy Mercedes , as reported on NeedToKnow. 

Londoner James Halstead said: ‘Have something nice and it’ll either get stolen, vandalised or heavily taxed by the government.

‘Prove me wrong.’

Mike Liu said: ‘But the police and Sadiq Khan keep telling us London is much safer now.

Miguel Cunha added: ‘If you can afford a G-Wagon, you’re better off moving to a safe country.

‘London ain’t it.’

Tottenham defender Udogie came back to his car after being an unused substitute in Tottenham’s 2-1 home defeat by West Ham United on Saturday to find the back window had been smashed, with shattered glass covering the inside of the vehicle.

A clothes hanger and carton of water were the only things left in the boot.

In a social media post after the Range Rover break in, the player said: ‘Yeah, goodnight.’

As reported on NeedToKnow, Tottenham fans rallied round their player, with David Cochrane commenting: ‘Ah man, I’m sorry for Destiny.’

Another – called Bradley – fumed: ‘Unacceptable. And has to stop f***ing immediately.’

Darren Carter added: ‘Impossible. Sadiq Khan said London is safe, low on crime and the best city in the world.’

James Smith added: ‘Simply has to stop. This is London for you, we’ve done this to ourselves.’

Greg Power joked: ‘I heard the person responsible left two Spurs season tickets in it. Any truth to this?’
