‘King of Benidorm’ says one other Brit vacation hotspot might give social gathering metropolis ‘run for its cash’

A bloke known as the “King of Benidorm” has told which holiday destination might soon challenge the party capital for its crown. Frank “The Stag Man” originates from Tottenham but settled in the Spanish resort after what started as a stag weekend.

The 55-year-old has established himself both there and back in Britain as the ultimate authority for guidance about the party destination. Yet despite Benidorm’s thriving tourism industry, he’s spotted potential elsewhere and reckons it could snatch the crown as Britain’s top holiday spot.

“I have my sights set on a resort in Ibiza,” he told Luxury Travel Daily. “It’s currently failing – but my Stagman expertise could change that. It needs people like me with mass influence and the love of clubbing.

“It’d bring back life to the tourism market and get it moving like it used to. Times change, as does the world, and for Ibiza it’s become lost over the years. It’s at breaking point.

“Now, I can make it the number one holiday destination for stag and hen parties once again. And even give Benidorm a run for its money.”

Frank points to several factors behind Ibiza’s decline. Back in 2022, more than three million holidaymakers descended on the island for its buzzing nightlife scene. That same year, Benidorm attracted just two million visitors.

However, last year saw over 17 million tourists flock to the Spanish city, whilst merely 3.4 million people headed to Ibiza. Frank explained: “Prices are higher in Ibiza, as it’s an island, so everything is transported and taxed. But you can still get cheap prices there, too.

“So cost isn’t really the issue. The resorts have stopped looking at what people want, focusing only on making money. [I get that] money makes the world go round – and people will pay for quality. But there’s a lack of moving with the times and too many drastic changes that have killed the vibe.

“It’s bad management on a large scale, with business owners getting their information from people who are unable to attract the right kind of tourists. Many businesses on the island think slapping ‘IBIZA’ on the front is enough to make it work.

“But that just doesn’t cut it anymore; no one cares about that. A name like mine brings tourists; especially as I’m known for helping people create amazing memories.”

Whilst Frank anticipates visitor numbers will continue climbing in Benidorm, his mission there has reached its conclusion. He’ll continue operating his various enterprises, including several bars, travel agencies and eateries.

However, there’s one urgent concern that might cause numbers to plummet just like Ibiza.

He continued: “Benidorm is a truly magical place – it’s the Disneyland for those up for a good time. It’s, no doubt, the stag and hen capital of the world. But there’s an increase in robberies and muggings. If it wasn’t suffering from this massive crime issue, then it’d be doing so much better.

“It’s my job to stop Benidorm, as well as Ibiza, from becoming ghost towns. I’ll give the islands another year and then I’ll make my move. Watch this space – the King is coming.”
