The Daily Star Chief Tipster has napped an improving young stayer to sluice through the mud at Warwick, while Sam Twiston-Davies can make the journey north to Doncaster pay off
HOUSE OF HABSBURG (3.47, nap) can rule supreme in the mud at Warwick on Friday.
The chaser has come into his own since he was switched to fences over a proper stamina test.
Trained by Christian Williams, the six-year-old was beaten a head by Jupiter Des Bordes at Warwick before going one better with a 20-length success at Uttoxeter.
Ridden patiently on heavy ground, he came through to win as he liked although the handicapper has hit him with a 10b rise in the weights.
However, he clearly has more improvement in him and Jack Tudor can steer him to victory in the Bet £10 Get 30 At Betano Handicap Chase.
LIBRE DE CHOEUR (2.37) caught the eye when staying on nicely to be second to Yellow Star on his latest run in December.
He is upped in trip for the 3m1f handicap hurdle and the extra yardage can bring about more improvement off what could be a lenient rating.
GLYNN BRAE (2.15, nb) tends to weather win or run. Stinker and I hope he has a going day at Doncaster.
Sam Twiston-Davies gets the leg-up in the Virgin Bet Supports Safe Gambling Handicap Hurdle and I think there is still some scope in his handicap rating.
MASK OF ZORRO (4.00, tab) has been a revelation this season for Joe Tizzard and is tipped to complete a four-timer in the Virgin Bet Handicap Hurdle.
He goes on any ground and although the assessor has been tough with him for his latest win at Taunton, he gave the impression that he won with a bit in hand.
Harry Derham sends a strong team to Town Moor where more is expected of the promising KIWI RUSH (12.45) in the maiden hurdle.
LASKO DES OBEAUX (1l45) is another bright prospect held in some regard and he should step up in the other novice hurdle where he gets some handy weight from three previous winners.
JAMAICAINE (2.50) has won cosily on her last two starts and the hat-trick awaits for Neil Mulholland’s mare with Harry Atkins taking off a handy 7lb.
At Wolverhampton, MR NUGGET (12.57) has plenty of ability and will be suited by the drop in trip while MIDNIGHT CALL (3.02), who was given a mediocre ride on his latest run, can make amends.
And at Southwell, don’t miss IMOLA (4.45) who has really got his act together and is good heart.
