League Two membership sack supervisor and subject ‘proper time to make a change’ assertion

Fleetwood Town have sacked manager Pete Wild.

The League Two clubs have been left 15th in the league and 11 points outside the play-offs and 14 clear of the relegation zone after a 2-1 defeat at Colchester United on Saturday.

The defeat marked a sixth loss in seven games and saw Fleetwood confirm Wild and his assistant manager Adam Temple were sacked on Sunday, saying it was the “right time to make a change.”

A statement by the club read: “Everyone at the club would like to place on record their thanks to Pete and Adam for their hard work and professionalism during his time at the club.

“The club will issue a further update on the first team staff in due course.”

Concerns have clearly formed in the boardroom in recent weeks about The Fishermen’s recent form with the club so far winless in 2026.
