A Premier League icon, who left his wife for a scorching hot model 22-years his junior, once claimed he “bonks everyday”.

David Ginola had to be seen to believed during his time in the Premier League as the fleet-footed winger wowed on the wing for Newcastle. However, his bedroom antics might just border the realms of fiction.

The Frenchman, who is celebrating his 59th birthday on Sunday (January 25) fell hard for jaw-dropping fashion model Coraline Delphin, and the pair tied the knot in 1991. However, their marriage was a rollercoaster that ended in a “Eurostar divorce” in 2016.

Coraline claimed Ginola’s affairs had ruined their marriage – with infamous occasion dubbed as the lovechild saga.

In 2000 it was alleged that David had fathered a daughter, Joy, with Parisian businesswoman Joelle Pinquier during an affair which lasted several months in 1991.

And he hit headlines when it emerged he was facing prison for failing to keep up child maintenance payments. Ginola was ordered to pay £30,000 in fees to Joelle, after allegedly refusing to take a DNA test.

Joelle said: “We met through common friends in the football world, when David was playing for the club PSG. I broke off our relationship in December 1991, when I discovered he was married and that his wife was pregnant.

“But it was after that that I discovered I was pregnant too…I want him to act like a father, not as an actor or a star. She wants to carry his name, for him to recognise her.”

After his divorce from Coraline, with the pair said to be on good terms, the former Newcastle star was snapped with stunning model Maëva Denat.

Maëva, dubbed the Angelina Jolie of France, was 22-years younger than Ginola – but the pair had soon started a life together and welcomed their first child in 2018. And while they were smitten, Ginola’s son, Andrea wasn’t impressed.

“She is not the next Angelina Jolie,” he fumed. “She’s struggling. I want my dad to find someone who earns a decent living and has goals in life.”

Maëva admits she met Ginola on the “day he died” after the ex-football almost lost his life during a charity match. She said: “We met on the day he died. A mutual friend introduced us at a restaurant in Cannes.

“It was just after midnight and we talked and had one kiss and then he went to the charity event. I was back in Marseille when my friend called and said, ‘Have you heard what happened to David? What did you do with him?’

“I said, ‘We just talked and we had one kiss and then we left — that was it’. I was so worried about him and because I didn’t know his close friends it was hard to check on how he was doing.”

Ginola was dead for nine minutes, until a defibrillator revived his pulse. After being rushed to hospital, surgeons performed a three hour quadruple bypass operation.

So, how does he spend his life with Maëva now, the answer was revealed when he left the I’m A Celeb! camp in 2021: “What I missed most was making love – especially when you do it every day.”
