Today (January 27), the world will learn if we are heading any closer to the end of the world as The Bulletin’s Science and Security Board (SASB) will reveal how close we are to midnight.
In 2025, the clock stood at 89 seconds to midnight, which is the closest it has ever been since it started at seven minutes back in 1947.
The SASB took into account nuclear and biological threats, as well as climate change, in making its decision. Now with Russia and Ukraine war continuing, US President Donald Trump’s actions in Venezuela, threats to Iran and him taking on NATO over Greenland, is the world any safer than last year?
Find out by watching our live blog below as we learn how close we are to the ‘end’ at 3pm.
