Goal machine Harry Kane is being rewarded every time he scores for Bayern Munich with a free dinner. A pub owner delivers a schnitzel for every goal the England skipper nets for the German league champions.

Proud chef and super fan Stefan Kastner of the Buchenhain Forest Inn personally delivers the dishes to the striker’s mansion. The landlord, who heralds from the Baierbrunn suburb of Munich, believes that his free food handouts motivate Kane on the field.

The English national side record goal scorer calls the lucky dishes “a ritual.’ Kane even allows Kastner – known locally as the “Schnitzel Guy” – to even pop by past security for the regular deliveries given his astonishing hit rate.

However the former Spurs star, conscious of his healthy diet, never wants chips. Kastner admitted: “Originally it was just a fan gesture, but now it’s become a ritual.

“It’s been going on for over a year now, I reckon we’re at 50 to 60 schnitzels by now. I don’t deliver each time he scores, I wait until he scores a couple and then I drive over there.

”I usually stop by around 6pm. These days, though, I wait until two goals have been scored.

“Then there’s a veal schnitzel with roasted potatoes and another with potato salad.”

Kane confirmed that he is a fan of schnitzels when local newspaper TZ broke details of his unusual fan gift.

He admitted: ”It’s like a ritual. It’s lovely. It’s probably my favourite dish from Germany, even though some say it’s Austrian food, but also Bavarian food. So it’s probably my favourite dish since I’ve been here.

“I can’t say I eat them all the time, to be perfectly honest. They are delivered, and the family or people I have in the house enjoy them, they feel like part of the community.

“And it was something he wanted to do. He probably didn’t expect me to score as many goals as I did. But yes, I think it’s just a nice, satisfying story.”
