Police were alerted following reports that a body had washed up on Billies Beach in Corrunna a week after a Brit man, 23 slipped and fell into the sea in Australia
A body has been discovered in the search for a 23 year old British tourist who tragically slipped and fell into the sea in Australia.
Police were alerted following reports that a body had washed up on Billies Beach in Corrunna.
“The body has been formally identified, and it is that of the missing 23-year-old UK national,” a police spokesperson confirmed. They added that a report will be prepared for the coroner.
The young man tumbled into the sea from a cliff, a fall of several metres, on January 18, triggering a large-scale search and rescue operation.
Chief Inspector Shane Jessep from the South Coast Police District said: ‘He wasn’t a rock fisherman, it was a male sightseeing and … appears to have had an accident and slipped on the rocks.’
