Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Galatasaray was paused as protesters stormed the pitch at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side were two goals to the good over the Turkish giants when the game had to be paused as a number of protesters made their way onto the pitch. There was a short break in play as the protesters were escorted off the pitch, with one image showing one brandishing a Kurdistan flag.
A video showed two of them making their way to the centre circle, before stewards were able to tackle them and take them off the pitch. City went into the game needing to win and results to go their way if they had any hope of making the top eight.
