McDonald’s is launching a limited-edition Friends meal next week, featuring themed packaging, collectibles and a new marinara dip inspired by the show. Could we be any more excited?
McDonald’s is rolling out a Friends-themed adult meal deal with a special collectors items – causing fans of the show to declare: “We’ll be there.” The fast food chain is teaming up with Warner Bros to roll out the new menu nationwide next week.
Customers can choose between a Big Mac, nine Chicken McNuggets or a McPlant, served with fries, a drink, and one of six exclusive Friends collectibles, which are based on the show’s six main characters.
It is also launching Monica’s Signature Marinara Sauce, a limited-time, tomato-based dip made with tomatoes, garlic, onion and herbs, inspired by the beloved character, played by Courteney Cox.
The sauce also launches alongside a brand-new menu item, Pizza Mozzarella Dippers, pizza-style flavoured mozzarella coated in crispy breadcrumbs while McCafé cups have also been redesigned with Friends-themed branding.
Fans using the McDonald’s App can also unlock exclusive rewards, including the chance to win Friends-inspired mugs, which features a design linked to the show, including the orange sofa, Monica’s door frame and the fountain from the opening credits.
And the chain’s iconic Chicken Shareboxes and McNuggets Shareboxes have been given a makeover, featuring Joey Tribbiani and the New York skyline in a nod to his famous line “Joey doesn’t share food”.
The character-themed collectibles all come with an accessory, such as Ross’s pet monkey Marcel, Joey and Chandler’s chick and duck and Phoebe’s guitar. Monica’s character is wearing her chef whites while Rachel’s is holding a cup of coffee.
Fans of the show, which aired from 1994 until its emotional end in 2004, have told of their excitement for the new menu, which launches on February 3.
One social media user wrote: “McDonald’s for the foreseeable!” Another said: “I need little Chandler with the chick.” Someone else replied: “I need them all.” A fourth wrote: “Guess I’ll be making extra McDonald’s visits”
The meal has been available widely across Europe but has not yet made its way onto the UK menu. It was first launched in Spain in October 2024 to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary served in a Friends-themed box.
The show, which launched the careers of its stars including Jennifer Aniston, is one of the most beloved sitcoms of all times and attracted a global fanbase who followed the turbulent lives of six Manhattanites in their 20s who often hung around in a coffee shop.
