Mum of resort employee killed by asylum seeker says Starmer has ‘blood on his hands’

The mother of a hotel worker who was killed after being stabbed 23 times by a Sudanese asylum seeker has said Sir Keir Starmer has got “blood on his hands”. Rhiannon Whyte’s mum has said the Prime Minister needs to be held accountable.

Deng Chol Majek is believed to have entered the UK by small boat less than three months before launching a frenzied assault on mother-of-one Rhiannon at Bescot Stadium railway station in Walsall on October 20 in 2024.

Majek, who was branded “demonic and inhuman” by Ms Whyte’s family, was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 29 years for her murder at Coventry Crown Court on Friday.

Rhiannon’s mother Siobhan Whyte said that the Prime Minister “needs to be held accountable” and also slammed Sadiq Khan.

Speaking to GB News, the mother said: “Starmer, the Government, for allowing this to happen. There’s so many cases that are brushed under the carpet.

“We have sat quiet for 15 months for Rhiannon’s sake because I wanted justice. Starmer needs to be held accountable.

“If it was his family, Sadiq Khan, if it was their family, this wouldn’t happen. This needs to stop.

“There’s cases of poor men, poor children, women being raped, attacked, beaten and murdered on a daily basis.”
