Passengers were hit with long delays after a nightmare traveller climbed on top of a Vueling plane and proceeded to showboat and heckle workers at Manises Airport in Valencia, Spain
An out of control traveller caused a 2 hour long delay after throwing a tantrum and running onto the roof of an airplane at a holiday hotspot popular amongst Brits.
During the ordeal the man could be seen shouting at airport staff while taking off a white windbreaker and he continued to showboat on top of the passenger jet. The wild man who appeared to be having a tantrum on top of the plane could be seen yelling at airport staff who were trying to get him down.
The incident took place at Manises Airport in Valencia, Spain, as footage showed the man mocking airport staff and even taking a drink from his bag while on top of the plane.
The man’s wild shenanigans caused the flight – which was destined for Amsterdam on Saturday – to be delayed by two hours. The cause of the man’s outburst on the top of the Vueling plane remains a mystery.
Las Provincias, local media in Valencia, reported the man remained on the top of the aircraft for at least 10 minutes before he was convinced to come down by the Civil Guard. After all of the chaos the man descended from the top of the plane via the boarding stairs on the side of the plane.
Numerous crew members and shocked passengers filmed the perplexing incident while officers attempted to convince the man down from the plane. Spanish Airports and Air Navigation (Aena) have claimed the man did not pose a risk to passenger’s safety during the ordeal and did not affect air traffic.
Local media reports the man received medical assistance at the airport, and he was later transferred by ambulance to the Psychiatric Unit of the General Hospital of Valencia.
The Daily Star previously reported on the UK’s worst airports in regards to flight cancellations – with the worst offender topping the list for two years in a row. These airports are not confined just to England, but of every part of the UK.
According to data from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), crunched by travel compensation specialists AirAdvisor, it was revealed Southampton Airport is the UK’s worst for two years running. Figures found the number of grounded flights was three times the national average.
