Lorna Luxe has shared that her husband John Andrews ‘is extremely unwell’ and that she now ‘can’t be away from his side’ amid his terminal cancer diagnosis.

The businesswoman, 43, took to her Instagram Story to say she was ‘so sorry’ to cancel a charity event this weekend which was to raise money for Maggie’s – a cancer charity.

John, who is 21 years Lorna’s senior, is battling stage four adrenal cancer after being diagnosed in April 2023.

Last month, Lorna revealed to her 1.6 million followers that former banker John’s cancer had spread and treatment was ‘no longer an option’.

In an update on Wednesday she shared a post to say the event on Saturday was cancelled as she needs to focus on looking after her partner.

The post read: ‘POSTPONED. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR UPCOMING EVENT…

‘It is with a very heavy heart that i have to share that we must unfortunately postpone our upcoming Charity Sale at The Alan Hotel in Manchester this Saturday 7th February.

‘John is currently extremely unwell, and right now it isn’t the right time for me to be away from his side. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but I know it’s the right thing to do.

‘I am so sorry for any disappointment caused. New event details will be shared as soon as possible, and all current tickets will remain valid for the new date. All ticket sales will still be donated to Maggie’s Cancer Care and The Meath Epilepsy Charity.

‘If you can no longer attend and would like a refund, please email customercare@laspace.co.uk and our team will help you as quickly as possible.

‘Our community has truly kept us going. I am so incredibly grateful for your kindness and support while I navigate this difficult time. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.’

She simply wrote over the top of the post: ‘I am so sorry.’

LA-SPACE – Lorna’s brand – was meant to be hosting the charity archive sale.

The event was to raise vital funds for two charities: Maggie’s and The Meath Epilepsy Charity.

Last month Lorna spoken about the sad realisation that she will become a widow at some point in her 40s following her loving husband John’s diagnosis.

Before Christmas, John was rushed back to hospital with organ failure, following a complication with his chemotherapy and fell ill with sepsis, but he has proven to be something of a fighter

She gave an interview in which she admitted the couple racked up £300,000 worth of debt to start up their now very lucrative brand and also opened up about the couple’s decision to not have children together.

The couple have kept followers updated throughout his treatment and were there for her when he went into remission in November 2023.

But in a tragic turn of events, his cancer returned in May 2024 and has spread to his brain.

Before Christmas, John was rushed back to hospital with organ failure, following a complication with his chemotherapy and fell ill with sepsis, but he has proven to be something of a fighter.

Lorna was told to ‘prepare for the worst’, but she knew he would recover and a determined John was home in time for Christmas.

She told Fabulous magazine: ‘It’s been quite scary because we don’t know how long we’ve got… We don’t know how long John is going to feel up for doing things so we’re running at a million miles an hour at the minute. We know we’re on a timeline.’

Lorna and John have been treating themselves to nice experiences to make the most of the time they have together, taking each day as it comes.

‘I don’t make long term plans,’ she says. ‘Fundamentally, I’m probably going to be a widow at some point in my 40s and that’s a bit of a scary place to be for any woman.’

Following John’s last stint in hospital, he has told Lorna they need to get their ‘ducks in a row’ financially, in case he’s not here, but she said, ‘we certainly aren’t discussing funerals or anything like that, though. We are just not in that space’.

Lorna and John were so convinced she would make it as an influencer back in 2014, they got into £300k of debt buying designer clothes and travelling – significantly more than the £50k she estimated she had racked up when discussing it on a recent podcast.

Lorna, who lives with John in the famous £2.5million Ghost House in Warwickshire, can now command up to £80k for one brand deal, but she knows she could struggle if it all went wrong tomorrow.

Joking that she’s ‘basically skint,’ Lorna has plugged her £600k profits from her successful L.A. Space brand back into the business and plans to branch out into the beauty market in the next 12 months.

Lorna and John are child-free by choice, but admits she did try for a baby in her 20s, but nothing happened.

The couple have kept followers updated throughout his treatment and were there for her when he went into remission in November 2023. But in a tragic turn of events, his cancer returned in May 2024 and has spread to his brain

She’s incredibly honest about her struggles with anorexia and bulimia – which she battled in her 30s and from age 35 onwards, she’s been focused on her career, admitting she would have struggled to do both.

She admits: ‘I did think recently: “What if?” – and people did say to me: “You can still do it.”

‘But it’s less about what I can do or I want, and more how that would that fit into my life..

‘I’m going through so much with John that it would feel like a selfish move to have a baby, because I do think I’d struggle, especially if I didn’t have John around.’

WHAT IS ADRENAL CARCINOMA?

Adrenal carcinoma is a ‘very rare’ cancer that starts in the outer layer of the adrenal glands.

The adrenal glands produce hormones and are located above the kidneys.

Adrenal carcinoma can cause too many of these hormones to be made, leading to symptoms.

For example, too much cortisol can affect the body’s blood sugar balance.

And excessive amounts of aldosterone can upset water and salt levels, as well as blood pressure.

Adrenal carcinoma’s cause is often unclear. Some people are born with a genetic mutation that puts them at risk.

Symptoms can include:

  • Raised blood pressure
  • Thirst
  • Passing urine more frequently
  • Muscle cramps
  • Weight gain, particularly in the abdomen
  • Muscle wasting of the limbs
  • Fat accumulation at the base of the neck
  • Swelling of the face
  • Mild diabetes
  • Abnormal hair growth on the face, arms and upper back

Treatment depends on the size of the tumour and whether it has spread.

Adrenal carcinoma is often fast growing and only diagnosed at a late stage, which makes treatment tricky.

It can include, however, surgery to remove the affected gland, as well as radiotherapy and chemo.
