An ex-England rugby player shed light on his relentless womanising ways off the pitch and said it didn’t make him feel good
Former England rugby star Danny Cipriani admitted he still felt down after sleeping with “three different women in one day” at the height of his fame.
The 38-year-old enjoyed a meteoric rise to his career with London Wasps before going on to play for the likes of Bath, Gloucester and Sale Sharks. Cipriani announced his official retirement in 2024 but not before earning 16 caps for England between 2008 and 2018.
He represented his country at two Six Nations tournaments in that time, as the current crop of stars now gear up to face Wales in their opener at Twickenham on Saturday afternoon. The fly-half during his peak years was equally known for his various high-profile relationships off the field, having dated plenty of A-listers.

In line with his playboy image, Cipriani once admitted to taking part in so many threesomes that they became the “norm” for him. However, he admitted they left him feeling “dejected”, while his relationships were often destructive.
Cipriani eventually married mental health campaigner Victoria Rose in 2021 before separating two years later, though he shed light on his previous romantic escapades while still married. Cipriani confessed to sleeping with “everyone from porn stars to actresses to girls I meet at the coffee shop”, before going on to explain that he was “very disciplined with the timings, shuffling one girl out of the house just in time for the next one to turn up.”
He wrote in his memoir: “When sex is one of the few things in your life that provides relief, you end up trying to find more and more unusual ways to get your hit. I’m sleeping with everyone from porn stars to actresses to girls I meet at the coffee shop. Threesomes have become the norm but I just feel dejected when it’s over.
“It may sound like every man’s dream but the art of life is finding the right balance. And in that respect, sex is no different to food or drink. While it’s fine to like food and drink, if you like them too much, they can make you deeply unhappy and destroy your life. Sex for me has become a form of self-harm.”
He would sleep with multiple women a day, detailing how alongside a successful rugby career for club and country, he would organise a rendezvous shortly after the previous one ended.
“It’s not unusual for me to sleep with three different women in one day,” he continued. Cipriani later revealed a typical week would involve sleeping with three women on his days off and one on days when he would train, though he would take a “night off” the night before matches.
Following his retirement from the sport, Cipriani discussed his battle with severe depression since the age of 22 in February 2020. He also described quitting rugby as a “sobering but also freeing moment”, looking back on a career that saw him reach the ultimate heights as a player but often make headlines with off-the-pitch controversies.
Since his divorce, Cipriani has dated actress AnnaLynne McCord. He is currently in a relationship with the 90210 star, reconciling last year despite a split in early 2025.
Looking ahead to the Six Nations, England under Steve Borthwick are title contenders as they chase their first title since 2020 and a first Grand Slam in 10 years. Wales head coach Steve Tandy is preparing for his first tournament in charge, with his nation chasing a first Six Nations victory in almost three years.
