WARNING, DISTRESSING CONTENT: A girl has revealed how her dad, grandad, and brothers raped and sexually assaulted her for years, targeting her from the age of six while her mum turned a blind eye
A court has heard how three generations of a family turned on a young girl and subjected her to years of horrific abuse, including rape and shocking violence with a horse whip and lit cigarettes. During a campaign of terror that started when she was only six, the youngster was raped by her dad and two brothers, and even sexually assaulted by her grandad.
While the abuse mainly happened in the family home in West Sussex, the mother allegedly turned a blind eye. Hove Crown Court also heard that the girl’s sister suffered physical abuse.
The nightmare only ended after the girl, at 12, told a teacher she was afraid to go home and “started explaining all the sexual stuff”. The girl, now a teenager, remembers being attacked when she was six years old.
She was repeatedly raped by her father and two brothers and also sexually assaulted by her grandfather, according to The Sun.
But the mum, dad, grandad, and two brothers are now heading to jail for a total of over 100 years. Their convictions include rape, sexual assault, and false imprisonment. The youngster told that court that when she told her mum about the abuse, she was beaten, locked in a cupboard, had her mouth taped up, and spent two days without food.
The court heard that the girl was burned with cigarettes, beaten with a horse whip, and spat on. Her mother also stole any cash that her family gave her on special occasions.
The girl bravely told her teacher at age 12 that she was afraid to go home. She told police: “I told how my parents keep abusing me and they’ve been doing it for years. Then I started explaining all the sexual stuff.”
Her father, 43, was found guilty of five counts of rape of a child under 13. He was also convicted of charges including sexual assault by penetration of a child under 13, three counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and three counts of cruelty to a person under 16.
The mother, also 43, was sentenced for four counts of cruelty to a person under 16, two counts of false imprisonment, and one count of perverting the course of justice.
The grandad, 70, was convicted of one count of sexual assault by penetration of a child under 13 and two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
Her older brother, 23, was found guilty of four counts of rape of a child under 13, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The younger brother, 20, was convicted of four counts of rape of a child under 13, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
