Teri Hatcher once earned a Super Bowl ring before becoming a world-famous TV and film star.

Hatcher was a cheerleader for NFL franchise the San Francisco 49ers in the 1980s. The decade was a golden period for the team, who earned three Super Bowl titles in 1982, 1985 and 1989.

Their success meant the California-born Hatcher earned a ring thanks to the 49ers’ victory over the Miami Dolphins in 1985. She joined the cheer squad after studying acting, but soon returned to her initial passion, featuring in shows like The Love Boat and Star Trek in the 1980s.

In the midst of her Hollywood breakthrough, she starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in the 1989 buddy-cop comedy Tango and Cash, while appearing in an episode of the hit TV show Seinfeld.

It was Hatcher’s role as Lois Lane in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in 1993 that catapulted her career to new heights.

The same year the superhero show ended, Hatcher appeared alongside Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997, playing Paris Carver.

Following her portrayal of the character, she was subsequently awarded the title of the world’s sexiest woman by FHM readers later that year. Hatcher’s estimated net worth of £ 40million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, also makes her the world’s wealthiest cheerleader.

Despite the immense success she’d already earned by the end of the 90s, the role of her career didn’t arrive until 2004 when she was cast as Susan Mayer in the ABC series Desperate Housewives.

The comedy-drama show ran for eight years and earned Hatcher a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild award, and an Emmy nomination.

During a January 2024 interview on The Talk, she opened up about her Super Bowl ring, admitting that she still wears it after 40 years of earning it.

“Honestly, the only finger that it still fits on is my wedding finger, and since I’m single,” she said. “I might as well be married to the NFL.” The next batch of Super Bowl rings will be in production shortly after the 60th edition of the game on Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots, hoping to win their first Super Bowl since 2013. The Patriots are looking to earn a record-breaking seventh title.
