Tesco has revealed proposals to expand its Express network with another 70 stores – including five on former Amazon Fresh sites.
The supermarket giant will open them by March next year, following 60 Tesco Express openings in 2025.
Sites include five former Amazon Fresh stores in London after the US tech group closed 19 stores as it shifts focus back to its online business.
Tesco already has more than 2,000 Express stores.
The grocery sector is pushing ahead with further convenience store rollouts amid a trend in shoppers making fewer trips to big stores.
