Keir Starmer is set to face off with Kemi Badenoch at PMQs after the worst week of his premiership.
The Prime Minister is under intense pressure from his own MPs after a week which saw the Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar call for him to quit, and the party remove the whip from Matthew Doyle, the former communications chief, for his ties to a paedophile councillor.
The PM was also forced to Jeffrey Epstein’s victims for making the Labour veteran the UK’s ambassador to Washington and believing his lies.
Earlier this week Mr Starmer pledged to “never walk away” from his mandate, and said he would lead the Labour Party into the next general election. He hit out at the infighting within his party and said the political “turmoil” would not stop him despite Mr Sarwar calling for him to resign.
The lack of support for Mr Sarwar strengthened the PM’s position, suggesting the immediate danger has passed, but the situation is still tense ahead of the last PMQs before recess.
