Three bouncers admit killing man that they had simply thrown out of a bar

Three bouncers have admitted killing a man who they had just thrown out of a bar. 

Doormen Mark Rowing, 37, Dwayne Watson, 44, and David Williams, 30, became embroiled in an altercation with 30-year-old Jamie Kelly outside a Doncaster pub on May 1, 2022. 

Kelly suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he died the following day. 

The trio of bouncers had previously denied a charge of manslaughter through gross negligence, but dramatically changed their pleas to guilty during a hearing on Tuesday.

Rowing, Watson and Williams have been released on bail ahead of their sentencing at Sheffield Crown Court on April 30.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles said: ‘Jamie Kelly and his family have been at the heart of our extensive investigation since the moment we received the first call to the scene, and I hope today’s developments can begin to provide a sense of closure for everyone who knew and loved him.

‘We await the sentencing in April and ask that the family’s privacy is respected as they continue to grieve.’
