Tottenham have appointed Igor Tudor as interim head coach until the end of the season, with the Croatian replacing Thomas Frank who was sacked after eight months
Igor Tudor has been named as Tottenham Hotspur’s new head coach, taking over from the sacked Thomas Frank. Tudor will serve as the club’s interim boss through to the end of the campaign.
Football.london understand a successful stint could see him land the permanent position come summer. The Croatian will oversee the players’ return to training on Monday as Spurs gear up for next Sunday’s North London Derby clash with Arsenal.
He will have the best part of a week to impose his ideas and playing style on the club before Mikel Arteta’s side visit. Considering his reputation for being a short-term, but effective, coach, he’s looking to quickly drag Tottenham up the table from 16th.

Upon his unveiling, Tudor declared: “It is an honour to join this Club at an important moment. I understand the responsibility I have been handed and my focus is clear.
“To bring greater consistency to our performances and compete with conviction in every match. There is strong quality in this playing squad, and my job is to organise it, energise it and improve our results quickly.”

Sporting Director Johan Lange praised the appointment in a statement of his own, saying: “Igor brings clarity, intensity and experience of stepping into challenging moments and producing impact.”
However, in the second part of his comments, Lange appeared to have a slight dig at Frank by listing things the club did not have under the Dane’s stewardship. He said: “Our objective is straightforward – to stabilise performances, maximise the quality within the squad and compete strongly in the Premier League and Champions League.”
The experienced tactician, with over a decade of managerial experience, has previously taken charge at clubs including PAOK, Galatasaray, Marseille and Lazio. Tudor’s most recent position was at Juventus, where he served between March and October 2025 as the Turin giants’ first non-Italian boss since Didier Deschamps in 2006/07.
The 47-year-old’s inaugural match as manager will be the North London Derby on Sunday, February 22. This follows Spurs’ sacking of Frank on Wednesday morning, concluding his catastrophic eight-month spell in north London.
Although the Dane had previously flourished at Brentford, he struggled to leave his mark with the Lilywhites – departing after an especially difficult run where they went without a Premier League victory for eight matches.
The club’s official announcement regarding Frank said: “The club has taken the decision to make a change in the men’s head coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.
“Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together. However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.
“Throughout his time at the club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment – giving everything in his efforts to move the club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”
