Birmingham automobile taking pictures with gunman on unfastened as police launch ‘further patrols’

An alleged gunman is on the loose after chaos on a street in Birmingham saw shots were fired at a car.

West Midlands Police are now investigating the incident on Radnor Close last night (February 17) as they work to establish who is involved.

A black Volkswagen was shot at and crashed into a white van, with its occupants then fleeing the scene.

The force said they have not received any reports of anyone being injured at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman also confirmed they were not called out.

Police and fire crews both attended the scene, following the fire service being alerted to the crash at 10.44pm, reports BiminghamLive.

West Midlands Police is now urging anyone with any information, particularly dashcam footage, to come forward.

A spokesperson West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating after shots were fired at a car in Radnor Close, Birmingham, at just after 10.30pm yesterday (Tuesday).

“Officers understand that the car hit a stationary vehicle before the occupants fled the scene.

“No one has reported any injuries to us. Investigators are working to establish who was involved and trace those responsible.”

The statement continued: “We will have extra patrols in the area in the coming days to offer reassurance to the community.

“Anyone with information including dashcam and mobile phone footage should contact us on 101 quoting l crime reference 20/151300/26.”
