A 102-year-old millionaire was rushed out of hospital by his children after shocking his family by marrying his younger carer. The adult children claim they ‘rescued’ their father, after finding out he transferred millions in assets to his 68-year-old companion.

Wang was leaving a hospital appointment in Taiwan, in a wheelchair pushed by his new wife, Lai. They were soon accosted by three of his sons, three daughters-in-law and four grandchildren, who pushed Lai aside and led Wang away.

The incident occurred on February 3, with video footage capturing the chaotic struggle, which reportedly left Lai injured. Police arrived on scene and Wang’s family told officers the elderly man was their father and father-in-law, and he was ultimately taken away from the hospital with them.

The chaotic incident occurred just weeks after the 102-year-old quietly registered his marriage to Lai on January 5.

His children say they only found out about the wedding when they tried to visit him a few days later and were refused access, as per The Sun. According to the family, Lai cut Wang off from the world, and didn’t let his family contact him. They also allege she took advantage of his declining mental condition to secure her financial future.

Reports suggest Wang transferred seven plots of land and a £1.9million insurance policy to Lai and her children, amounting to around £4.7million.

In total, it is claimed he has between £16 million and £18.7million, with his assets made up of land and properties. Under Taiwanese law, individuals with legal capacity may marry regardless of age.

It comes after a secret millionaire who was once worth £37million now lives in a caravan and only has £100 in his bank account.

Rob Lloyd, 57, was once one of the richest men in Wales, with an annual salary of around £350,000 and many millions more in his bank account.

He spent £6 million on creating a racing yard and another £2 million on horses, not to mention buying up a couple of farms too and even starred in Channel 4’s hit show The Secret Millionaire in 2009.
