A top general has admitted that Mad Vlad Putin could cause Europe to suffer “thing we cannot even imagine” – as fears of WW3 continue to rise. It comes as the ageing tyrant continues to stockpile weapons against a potential conflict with the West.

Tensions have already been rising drastically over recent months after the UK intercepted ships forming part of Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet”. However, the Kremlin is fighting back, giving striking warnings that Europe and its NATO allies should “not mess with them”.

Now, one army general has said that Russia has the potential to unleash hell on the UK, Europe and even the US itself. It all comes as the war in Ukraine continues to grind on with no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Major General Wold-Jürgen Stahl from the German army said that his nation is already facing a wave of cyberattacks that are causing problems, according to the Sun. The president of the Federal Academy for Security Policy said that Moscow has a lot of tricks up its sleeve — and they aren’t afraid to use them.

“When I see how Putin has acted up to now, and the way that he is in my assessment on a mission against the West, then there is no question of whether he will use military means,” Stahl said, addressing delegates at the British-German event. “If he gets the opportunity, he will use them.”

Stahl also warned that despite their best efforts, democracy is under threat in Europe as a result of Russian attacks. He went on to say that some world leaders could even be left stalling for action if Russia decided to invade NATO territory.

“People will immediately say ‘Er, we don’t need to fight at all. We have to resolve it diplomatically. We can’t resolve it militarily’,” Stahl said.

“I don’t know what discussions, what currents might be unleashed here in Germany. I do have a certain concern about that.”

He went on to give his view of the current world order, which he admitted was “coming apart at the seams”. Describing the system as “turbulent” and “lawless”, he urged NATO allies to work together to stave off the threat being posed by Moscow.

The general also warned that German security in all its forms, including its economic and social fabric, are all vulnerable to Russian influence. And with war already on European territory for four years, tensions between Russia and the West show no sign of cooling off.

Earlier, the UK’s Chief of Defence Staff warned Brits to be ready to sacrifice their “sons and daughters” in order to save the country. Meanwhile, British troops are already on the ground across NATO territory preparing themselves for a potential future conflict.

NATO war games are being held in Germany this year, with troops carrying out military exercises and mobilise soldiers quickly. This year, the focus is on the hypothetical move of Russia trying to close the so-called Suwalki Gap.

The “gap” is a stretch of land that connects NATO allies Poland and Lithuania, but cuts Russian territory off from its ally Belarus. Forming the only land border between the Baltics and the rest of Europe, the gap is essential to defend to maintain the security of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, key NATO allies according to the UK government.
