An adult star has sparked outrage after being caught on CCTV shoplifting a bikini. Her action led to a torrent of online abuse and even death threats.

Gemma Doyle was filmed stealing swimwear from a shop in Uluwatu, Bali while on holiday with a pal. The footage quickly went viral after a friend of the shop owner posted it online, igniting violent reactions.

The 26-year-old model later admitted to the theft on her own social media. Doyle said: “I am aware of the stories going around and it’s true, I was on one and I was being a bit silly and I stole a swimsuit.”

Wearing a bikini in her video, she added with a giggle: “That’s all I did. I’m just a human being, guys.

“I have never stolen anything in my life but anyway I did that, it costs like $30 (approximately £16) and I did it just for the fun of it.” The Aussie adult star also reportedly claimed the shop owner called her “fat”, before posting a clip of herself leaping into her hotel pool shouting “f**k you” at the camera.

In a second, more serious apology, Doyle told her followers: “I actually wanted to apologise for taking what I took. I am very, very sorry. I am very, very sorry to the owners of the store … to everyone involved I am very sorry.”

She claimed she was meeting the owner to “pay double of what was taken, and also give the items back”, News.com.au reported. Doyle then suggested her actions may have been linked to health issues.

She said: “I don’t wanna get too much into it, but I do have a brain injury because I was hit a lot of times in the head. And also because of my endometriosis where I was fainting and I would hit my head and it turns out I have a traumatic brain injury.

“And I haven’t wanted to discuss this because I feel like it’s kind of embarrassing to talk about.” However, Doyle also admitted she was “under the influence” and made a mistake by stealing the bikini.

Speaking to news.com.au, Doyle admitted, “I’d had a few drinks” and made a “bad decision in the moment”. She said: “There’s no deeper excuse it was impulsive and it was wrong.

“I was in a headspace where I wasn’t thinking clearly about the consequences or the impact on the business owner. That’s on me.

“I can’t blame anything other than myself. I never drink but because I’m on holiday and overseas for the second time in my life I thought why not have a few but I don’t think I should have alcohol it doesn’t react well with me anymore.”

Doyle reportedly said she returned the bikini and apologised to the owner because her actions “wasn’t sitting right” with her, and she understood why the owner was upset. South Kuta Police confirmed no charges would be laid after mediation.

Moreover, Doyle agreed to pay compensation of around AU$1600 (£810). She admitted the online hate has been “overwhelming” but acknowledged people’s anger and said her apology was meant to explain, not excuse, her behaviour.
