Meghan Markle has issued a new statement . . . at the very same time Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was taken into custody. The former duke was detained at approximately 8am yesterday morning, coinciding with his 66th birthday, over allegations of misconduct in public office.

While King Charles issued a statement following the developments, it appears Meghan Markle was happy sidestepping the arrest controversy and has instead released her own communication.

This correspondence takes the form of an email to her As Ever supporters, highlighting some of her soothing winter products.

In the email, Meghan penned: “When the temperature drops, we start by striking a match. A steady flame on the table. Soft light in the corners of the room. The familiar comfort of a scent that instantly changes the mood.”

She went on: “From there, everything else follows – a hot mug in both hands, citrus on the cutting board, something gently simmering on the stove. Small rituals, made warmer by candlelight.”, reports the Express.

The email then featured links to various As Ever items including the candle, the hot toddy kit, the spiced cider mulling kit, and a herbal tea.

The email wrapped up with Meghan’s winter recommendation to: “Add a spoonful of sweetness to your night, too. Stir As ever honey into a mug.

“Spoon it onto a little late-night toast. Or build a cozy snack board with whatever’s in the pantry.”

Meghan Markle and her spouse Prince Harry, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020, have remained silent on Andrew’s arrest today.

In contrast, King Charles issued a statement addressing the news about his brother. He penned: “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office.

“What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all. Charles R.”
