As Sarah Ferguson once again hits the headlines over her ties to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, sickening new details emerged on how she introduced him to her goddaughter
Sarah Ferguson is believed to have introduced her goddaughter to sicko Jeffrey Epstein — a year after he was released from prison for child sex crimes. It comes as Fergie comes into the spotlight as her connections to the convicted paedophile come to light.
The disgraced ex-duchess, 63, has stayed out of the public eye ever since the largest drop of the Epstein files by the US Department of Justice last month. She was spotted for the first time in weeks, living it up at a bougie wellness retreat in Zurich, Switzerland.
But as Sarah tries to dodge the media circus engulfing her former husband, disgraced ex-prince Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, fresh details have emerged of just how close Fergie was to Epstein. This now includes her own goddaughter, whom she introduced to just a year after he was released from prison.
According to the Sun, emails seen in the Epstein files showed Fergie liaising over a meeting between the financier and then-22-year-old Poppy Cotterell. Fergie and Poppy had had close ties, as Poppy’s late mum Carolyn was a lady in waiting for the ex-Duchess of York.
The exchange was found as part of the 3million files that were released as part of the investigation. In the email chain, it was discovered Epstein was given Poppy’s contact details in November 2010, just over a year after he was released from prison in Florida.
Chillingly, Sarah wrote in the email connecting the two: “Over to you! Lots of love.”
Poppy would go on to meet Epstein at his mansion in Manhattan, with Jeffrey considering giving her a job. He even mulled over the potential of a donation of $100,000 (£73,000) to a children’s charity in her name.
Epstein’s assistant would later email Dr Woodson Merrell, a doctor who ran the charity, writing: “Poppy Cotterell would love to hear more and be introduced to Dr Merrell and his alternative medicine for children charity.” The donation was confirmed in a separate email, adding that a tour of the charity would take place before the donation was presented.
Now aged 38, Poppy now works as a private psychotherapist in London, but also has a side hustle as a yoga teacher. Speaking to the Sun about her interactions with Epstein, she said she only met him once, but confirmed he did offer her a job.
“In 2010 at the age of 22, I was working in New York as an intern at an art gallery when I was introduced to Mr Epstein about a possible job looking after his art collection,” she said. “After meeting Mr Epstein he offered me a role, which I declined; I never met him again.”
“I was not aware of Dr Woodson Merrell’s charity before I met Mr Epstein, did not request a donation to be made to it, and do not know if a donation was ever made,” she added. Meanwhile, despite her decision to introduce the two, Fergie would later blast Epstein for trying to set up dates with a man she was interested in with a 21-year-old.
Neither Sarah nor ex-husband Andrew have publicly commented on the latest developments from the Epstein files discoveries. However, Andrew has previously strenuously denied all allegations made against him.
