Leeds home celebration stabbing after knife struggle breaks out as police disperse 70 folks

A major incident saw armed police dispatched to a property in West Yorkshire after reports of a knife fight breaking out at a house party.

West Yorkshire Police have said multiple people fighting with bladed weapons at a house in Leeds on Friday February 20) evening.

Officers were called to reports of a stabbing at Rockwood View in Osmondthorpe shortly before 9pm, reports YorkshireLive.

The force arrived at the scene to find a party involving about 70 people taking place. Officers dispersed the large group as a helicopter was also called to the scene.

Despite reports of a stabbing, police did not find anyone at the scene that had suffered injuries However, a 16-year-old would later attend Leeds General Infirmary with knife related injuries.

Intitially, a spokesperson for the force said: “Police were called to reports of a stabbing and several people fighting with bladed weapons on Rookwood View, Osmondthorpe shortly before 9pm last night

“Upon attending the scene, it was established that a party involving about 70 people was taking place at a nearby address. The party was dispersed and it was established that nobody present had suffered any injuries.”

West Yorkshire Police later gave an update confirming an injury from the incident after they a teenager arrived at hospital on their own. They also confirmed that two arrest were made in connection with the incident.

The spokesperson later said: “Further enquiries are taking place after a 16-year-old boy later presented himself at Leeds General Infirmary with injuries to his hand.

“Two males have been arrested on suspicion of affray.”
