Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has reportedly been slapped with a horse rising ban as he remains under intense public scrutiny. The disgraced ex-prince will no longer allowed to take part one of his favourite pastimes.

With the Epstein files causing chaos for Andrew, as well as Lord Mandelson, the former royal is now trying to find ways to enjoy himself as he remains under police investigation. This includes riding on horseback, as officers investigate him for misconduct in public office.

Now, aides to the royals have become weary of seeing him smile as he rides through woodland, saying it is a “bad look” to the already tetchy case. It comes as Andrew continues to face questions of allegedly leaking secrets to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

According to the Sun, the former prince is now being confined to his own home after moving to Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk three weeks ago. Meanwhile, police are continuing to go through Andrew’s belongings at his former home of Royal Lodge in Windsor looking for documents to build the case against the ex-royal.

Prior to his move, Andrew would often be seen riding around the Windsor grounds on horseback. However, with the spectacle of the disgraced prince now becoming a major press story, royal advisers have told Andrew to steer clear of this, in case of being snapped by photographers.

Now, instead of riding through the forest on horseback, Andrew only has his dogs to keep him company, including two that were given to him by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II. But as he continues his attempts to avoid the public eye, the discussions surrounding Andrew’s role in the line of succession continue.

On Tuesday (February 24), a brutal debate was held in the House of Commons where MPs did not mince their words on what they thought of the former royal. He was branded a “rude, arrogant and entitled man” by some politicians as Parliament said they were looking into how they could remove him from being in line for the throne.

Andrew has only been seen once since his titles were officially stripped from him by his brother King Charles. This was on Thursday (February 19) when he appeared dazed and confused as he left a police station on his 66th birthday after 11 hours of police questioning.

Sources close to the former royal have admitted that his favourite pastimes are now causing a PR nightmare for the Royal Family. One insider said: “Since his arrest last week he has been ordered not to go horse riding; it’s considered a bad look.

“They don’t think he should be seen grinning and smiling on his horse like he was in Windsor,” they added. “But it was one of the few things he actually enjoyed doing so what on earth is he going to do with his time?”

Andrew’s previous hobbies all been stunted after he was first embroiled in the Epstein scandal, surrendering his gun licence to officers last year. He is no longer allowed to even drive around, as he used to be able to take a spin around the Windsor estate, smiling to passers-by.
