General Sir Roly Walker issued a rather ominous warning to the United Kingdom, and claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention of stopping his war plans
A former British Army chief has issued a stark warning that the United Kingdom is heading toward a direct and “unavoidable conflict” with Russia – and it could lead to World War 3.
General Sir Roly Walker cautioned that the threat posed by Moscow will persist long after the current conflict in Eastern Europe concludes, emphasising that Western nations remain prime targets for Russian aggression.
“We, and the West generally, are in the crosshairs of Russia,” Walker stated in the Daily Mail. “It’s us on their terms or no deal. This is not going away, however the war in Ukraine ends.”

Highlighting the rapid remilitarisation of the Russian state despite the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, Walker suggested that without a massive shift in the current geopolitical landscape, a major escalation is “highly likely”. He pointed out that Moscow is actively rebuilding its military capabilities to emerge even stronger from its ongoing campaign.
“Unless something changes, I think we are on a collision course with a Russia that is on a war footing, that is replenishing its lost equipment and rearming itself to be a bigger and more lethal set of armed forces,” he warned.
Addressing the ongoing war, the former army chief emphasised that the responsibility for peace lies solely with the Kremlin, while urging allied nations to maintain their steadfast backing for Kyiv.
He said: “Russia started this war by invading Ukraine. It seems to me only they can decide to stop it – we need to continue helping Ukraine.”
Walker also delivered a blunt message regarding any potential Russian ambitions beyond Ukraine’s borders, specifically regarding the NATO alliance. He stressed the vital importance of robust deterrence, issuing a direct challenge to the Russian President’s strategic calculations.
“We can also signal to Putin that if he thinks it will be any easier to steal Nato territory, then he is even more stupid than we thought,” he remarked.
He concluded his stark assessment with a resolute declaration of Western resolve: “We will never give up what matters to us.”
Not at all worrying for the rest of us in the UK . . .
