A pensioner faces jail after he was caught with more than 75,000 child sex abuse images and boasted that he ‘enjoyed’ looking at them.
Louis Rumis, 82, had depraved videos of babies as young as six-months-old in his illegal collection.
He was caught by police and had his home in an affluent village in a national park raided – but he continued to download material and later told officers he ‘enjoyed doing it’.
Rumis’ stash was so large officers gave up counting them all, a court heard.
He admitted three charges of possession of indecent images and now faces jail when he is sentenced at a crown court next month.
The charges included 4,091 of the most serious Category A images, including 232 videos, 10,445 Category B images and 60,787 Category C images.

Southampton Magistrates’ Court, Hants, heard that in April 2024, police went to Rumis’ home in the village of Everton, near Lymington, Hants.
During the search, dozens of SD cards, hard drives and storage devices were found containing the child sex abuse images which were then taken away and examined.
One of the most serious category A videos involved a six-month-old child.
In his subsequent police interview, Rumis said that he hadn’t paid for the images and that he considered the child abuse images to be ‘child porn’.
Police conducted another search of his property and found even more images of all three categories on May 19, 2025.
Steven Woolfe, prosecuting, said: ‘The officers have ceased to continue counting the number of images involved.’
He added that in a subsequent police interview, Rumis ‘admitted he continued to watch them and enjoyed doing it’.
Barry Keel, mitigating, told the court that Rumis is 82 years old and of previous good character and entered his pleas at the earliest opportunity.
Chair of the magistrates’ bench, Kevin White, ordered that the case be sent to Southampton Crown Court for sentencing.
Rumis has been remanded on unconditional bail, but is now subject to a requirement that he report to his nearest police station.
