American Olympian and snowboarding icon Chloe Kim has been the subject of some unwanted attention and is now taking precautions with the public.
‘Hello hello! Happy Friday!’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘I unfortunately had to turn off my DMs due to people taking things too far. I’ve seen too many fake and very disturbing images/videos and I need to protect myself.’
Kim ended the message on a happier note.
‘I really do enjoy connecting with you all!’ she wrote. ‘Much love.’
Kim did not go into further detail, but there have been some viral AI fakes of her and her boyfriend, Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett. One image showed the couple appearing to get engaged — a notion she shut down during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel‘s ABC show.
‘Don’t fall for it, guys,’ she said.

Earlier this week, the double Olympic gold medalist was spotted braving the elements in Manhattan following her return from the Milan Cortina Olympics. Kim, 25, looked glamorous despite the sub-zero temperatures as she navigated the snow-covered streets in a high-fashion ensemble for the outing on Monday.
The California native was not alone for the snowy stroll, as she was seen alongside fellow Team USA golden girl and gymnastics superstar Sunisa ‘Suni’ Lee.
Kim opted for a striking tan coat with oversized fur trim to keep the biting East Coast wind at bay during the heavy winter storm on Monday.
She paired the statement outerwear with an orange leather skirt that added a pop of color to the gloomy winter day in the heart of the Big Apple. The superstar athlete completed her look with a brown button-up shirt and black heels.
Kim appeared unfazed by the heavy snowfall as she clutched a sleek black designer handbag while walking through the whiteout conditions on the sidewalk.
Lee, who recently cheered on the winter athletes in Italy, appeared equally prepared for the weather in a navy Team USA puffer jacket and casual blue jeans.
The appearance comes as the world-renowned snowboarder adjusts to life back on American soil following her latest stint competing on the global world stage.

Kim claimed a heroic silver medal in the women’s halfpipe final at the 2026 Games, adding to her historic tally of three career Olympic medals. The veteran star narrowly missed out on a historic third straight gold after being unseated by 17-year-old South Korean prodigy Choi Gaon.
Choi became the youngest X Games winner in 2023 at age 14. Now the first-time Olympian is the first non-American woman to win gold in snowboarding’s premier event since Torah Bright of Australia in 2010.
The 2026 silver follows Kim’s previous back-to-back gold medal victories in 2018 and 2022, cementing her legacy as one of the greatest of all time.
Kim has become a global household name since her historic debut, known for her record-breaking performances in the women’s halfpipe over the last eight years.
