Armed police have descended on the Alum Rock area of Birmingham after reports of a stabbing near a primary school – police have cordoned off the area while they deal with the incident
Heavily armed police officers have swarmed a UK city after reports of a stabbing. A cordon has been put in place in the Alum Rock area of Birmingham, with multiple police vehicles lining the streets.
The incident happened near a local primary school. Horror videos show officers frantically putting on stab vests and running up the road as a police dog is released from a car. Screams can be heard from people at the scene as a woman saves a bloodied arm out of a window.
One image appears to show emergency services carrying out CPR on someone on the ground. West Midlands Police said they have arrested a 32-year-old man after another man was stabbed.
“We were called to Bridge Road after at 12.06pm following reports another man had been seriously injured,” the force said. “Firearms officers were deployed to the incident as part of our response.
“A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and is currently in police custody.”
