The Daily Star says that hopes we would finally see energy bills come down have been dashed by the Middle East crisis, as firms clarified customers would be the ones left paying
We’ve waited for what seems like forever for energy costs to come down. After years of steady rises, and a recent winter with miserable weather throughout, we were finally looking forward to some smaller bills next month.
In a world where everything – except wages – seems to be rocketing, this was to be the first piece of good news in a very long time. But in the space of a weekend, that dream has now gone.
Clearly any major instability in the Middle East affects the cost of gas and oil. But energy bosses wasted no time at all in clarifying that the extra cost will be firmly passed to the customer.
It’s funny how they are able to reprice gas the very same week that wholesale price is influenced by war. Yet in times when the price of energy drops, it takes an awful long time for savings to be passed to customers.
There is one good part though – now temperatures are climbing we won’t need the heating on as much.
Beckhams draw Line?
The Beckham family feud has had more twists and turns than a series of Line Of Duty. There were lots of rumours of a falling-out then Brooklyn told the world his parents ruined his life and his mum was embarrassing at his wedding.
In one Instagram post he made a severe dent in the well-oiled PR machine that is Brand Beckham. Since then there has been a kind of weird truce where both sides put thinly attacks “hidden” in social media posts.
But now it looks like David has taken the moral high ground by wishing his estranged son a happy birthday. The world awaits for how the amateur chef will respond.
Somehow we doubt show boss Jed Mercurio is taking any inspiration for the new AC-12 adventures!
Match off
Luke Littler has been banned from playing in a football match by KSI.
Obviously the influencer’s not heard he plays in the Premier League!
