Aussie cricket nice set to be REPLACED after podcast meltdown

  • Decision follows a difficult week for the pair

The podcast host who was verbally attacked by former Aussie cricketer Stuart MacGill has announced he will continue the show without him.

Andrew Menczel has now recorded a solo podcast episode without MacGill by his side, addressing the 54-year-old’s behaviour and firing back with several criticisms of his own.

MacGill will no longer appear on the Cricket Unfiltered podcast after the pair’s explosive on-air confrontation earlier this week.

His aggressive verbal tirade directed at Menczel has concerned the cricketing world, with some claiming MacGill had crossed the line into bullying.

Menczel ended the episode after enduring several minutes of abuse from MacGill, who called him a “f***ing idiot,” “moron,” and “muppet.”

In a return solo episode, Menczel revealed MacGill continued the abuse after the original show was recorded, going off further once the microphones were switched off.

‘The show ends, then he goes off some more. Yells at me, calls me the C word, storms out the door,’ ‘Menners’ said on Wednesday’s podcast.

Menczel claimed MacGill’s comments were an illustration of ‘bullying’, before returning by directing some of his own choice words towards the 55-year-old.

He labelled MacGill a ‘f***ing idiot’, ‘muppet’ and a ‘ticking time bomb.’

The former Aussie Test cricketer has since attempted to express regret in a new episode of the pair’s Dream 11 show.

‘First of all, I’d like to apologise for losing my temper,’ MacGill said.

‘More importantly, I’d like to apologise specifically for intimidating you, if that’s how you felt. Because I don’t condone that at all. I think it’s wrong.

But Menczel hasn’t take the apology well, and attempted to hold MacGill accountable.

‘You don’t really understand what I was talking about on Monday because you lost the plot so quickly you didn’t even let me get a point out,’ he said.

In the initial argument between the pair, MacGill was trying to defend the privacy of David and Candice Warner.

He did so when Menczel tried to make a point about the negative treatment of Candice Warner by South African cricket fans in 2018.

The pair were expected to record a live podcast on Thursday night at 7pm.

But recent reports suggest Menczel and MacGill stepping foot in the same room to film a podcast again is unlikely.
