Rihanna needs more than an umbrella following a gun attack on her home. The singer is said to be “taking extra security precautions” and rescheduling her diary after “freaking out” due to the Beverly Hills mansion incident on Sunday.
Popstar Rihanna is ramping up personal security after “freaking out” following a gun attack on her Beverly Hills mansion.
Ivanna Ortiz, 35, was arrested by police on suspicion of firing ten shots with an assault rifle at the 38-year-old singer’s home on Sunday.
Now the shocked We Found Love hitmaker, who is expected to make a major pop comeback later in the year, is reportedly “taking extra security precautions and has even rescheduled an upcoming photo shoot because of the shooting”.
An insider claims that Rihanna is “freaking the f*** out” out after the attack and “doesn’t understand” why her family was targeted.
“Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened,” a source told People.
“Even with a great security team in place, it’s scary to realize that something like this can still happen.
“(It was) terrifying (but Rihanna is thankful) everyone is safe.”
LAPD officers allege Ortiz – who had previously directed an abuse-filled message at Rihanna on Facebook – fired shots from a white Tesla before fleeing the scene.
Rihanna and partner A$AP Rocky were seen on a date night in Los Angeles just hours before the incident.
Rihanna’s famous neighbours also considering revising their security include Mariah Carey and Madonna.
The LAPD’s Robbery–Homicide Division confirmed an investigation is under way and Ortiz now facing an attempted murder charge.
Radio dispatch recordings of the incident, heard by the Los Angeles Times, said at least 10 shots were fired from the vehicle before the driver left the scene.
A police helicopter later located a Tesla in a parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where Ortiz was arrested.
According to reports Ortiz has previous arrests in Florida for careless driving and violating pretrial release conditions.
Ortiz has also promoted a Praying Woman’s Journal on YouTube, where she reads from the Bible daily and coaches others through prayer.
Rihanna who is said to be in the dark over why she was targeted, purchased the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom 1930s home in 2021. It features an open-air courtyard and swimming pool.
