Six Tower air fryer models have been urgently recalled due to fire risk, with customers told to stop using them immediately and unplug them
Several air fryers have been urgently recalled from customers due to a fire hazard. Multiple models have been included in the product recall notice as anyone owning these appliances has been advised to cease using them “immediately”.
Tower Air Fryers has recalled the products manufactured between January 2022 and April 2023. They had been purchased from retailers including Argos, B&M Bargains, DID, Poundland, Robert Dyas, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and the Tower Housewares website.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) stated: “The product presents a risk of fire as it can overheat and ignite during use. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.”
It continued: “The product has been recalled from end users. Owners of affected products should stop using the product immediately and unplug it.
“For further information, including checking if your product is affected and registering your product for a refund or replacement, please access the Tower Housewares webpage. Your safety is our top priority,” Tower said in a statement.
“We recently identified a potential issue with certain Tower air fryer models and are conducting a voluntary recall to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.”
The company is encouraging anyone with the affected air fryers to complete a form on its website. To accomplish this, customers require access to their air fryer to examine the rating label. This can be found at the base of the air fryer. Purchasers must also be capable of uploading an image of the rating label and providing their email, phone and postal details.
Buyers will be able to verify whether their device falls under the recall and discover the subsequent actions required. Tower stated: “If you own an affected model we’re here to make the process as simple as possible.”
